I question their methods (how the hell did Ernst & Young get on their list?) but Fortune has released the latest list of the best places to work. For those of you who are currently in the job market. Also broken down by state.
(I think I might actually enjoy this job, in spite of my hating most other human beings.)

Jerks
Jerk Squad!! is getting kinda boring. Women-hating, hyperconservatives, postings on coding. Bleh. Hateatron may be a bunch of complete strangers (coughdorks!cough), but they seem to be having a lot more fun with their postings. We'll see. But then, maybe I should post more interesting questions. Perhaps the problems lies entirely upon my shoulders. Auugh! The pressure!! sob
Beautiful
I cannot begin to describe how absolutely gorgeous it is outside. (I'm still in Albany.) There's still feet of shining white snow on the ground and coating branches and bushes and entire evergreen trees like thick, goopy frosting. It's something out of a poster advertisement for winter vacations. Long, delicate icicles hanging from the roof line and from branches where the snow has been melting slowly. They twinkle and shine in the sunlight, reflected and direct. The sky is a deep blue, a shade or two darker than you'd find in the Crayola box with the label "sky blue." The tops of the bare trees wave in the sky, and the ice on the branches shimmers in rainbow colors and flashes of white. It's beautiful. You call local companies on the phone and you wind up spending ten minutes talking about how lovely it is outside (the woman at the cable company is taking pictures through her office window). I wish I could post pictures on this site so you guys could see how amazing it looks up here (and how much snow we have!). Ah, well.

Adding Comments
I've been waiting for HaloScan to open up their registration again, as they seem to be the best comment, uh, stuff provider, but Enetation has opened their registration back up again. Thing is, Enetation is really freaking slow and located in the U.K., and tech stuff located there has not worked well for this Yank in the past. Sooooo, should I just go with Enetation and make those two readers of this blog happy, or should I continue to wait for what appears to be the better provider, HaloScan, to open up their registration again?

Another Reason To Like Conan O'Brien
Earlier this morning, Conan, in order to mark the turning of the new year for those in the central time zone, had a Japanese male prostitute dropped like the Waterford crystal ball at Times Square onto Late Night's old, male, very excited announcer, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Happy New Year, Central Time Zone! What better way to note the change of year for those in the midwest?
:-D
I love Jerk Squad!! I laughed so hard just now, I nearly rid myself of the bad champagne my parents served to me earlier.

Octopus Army
I'm bummed the latest Octopus Army hasn't come out yet as I've been looking forward to reading what this lot has to write about diseases. I'm very much hoping to read something on Ebola, which is a lot of fun to say.
Really. It is. Try it: E-bo-la!
Eeeee-bo-la!
E-BO-la!
E-bo-la!
EEEEEEEE-BO-la!
Whee!

Speaking of Jerk Squad!!
I'm very tempted to buy something from the store, but I can't bring myself to do so. I think if they had a keychain, I would. Then I could attach it to my backpack and I could be a walking ad for Jerk Squad!! Now wouldn't that be fabulous. (I should get something from the Octopus Army shop, too. All that merchandise, though, and still no keychains!)
Post, Dammit!
I need more people to post things on Jerk Squad!! so I have something else to do besides post stupid entries on my blog. Go! Post stupid questions! Post jerky answers to stupid questions! Hurry!
Comments
I've received a couple of requests (and many individual requests from one of the requesters) to add a comments function or whatever it's called to this blog.
Why anyone would want to waste time responding to my long, boring posts when they could be posting questions on Jerk Squad!! is beyond me, but I have looked into the options. Unfortunately, most of the free comment-stuff services have shut down their sign-up page, so I won't be able to do anything yet. Remember, I'm an unemployed student who just blew a huge wad of cash I don't have on Christmas presents ('cause I like giving presents! phhbtbtbtbt!), so I can't do the server-thingie on my own. Also, from the lack of technical language in this post, you can probably tell I am a HMTL- (and, basically, a World Wide Web-) 'tard and know nothing about programming a web page. I need all the flippin' help I can get.
So the two of you will just have to hold your horses! whinny snort

grrrrr
I am irked beyond belief at the Xupiter website which pops up whenever a website cannot be found. I cannot back-up from the site to the previous pages without many clicks or using the drop-down, and they have twenty-billion pop-ups. I want them to go out of business so that when I click on a link to a site which does not exist, I get a screen saying that site does not exist, which would mean a web-enemy has fallen, which would make me happy. Fallen enemies are a good thing. Die, Xupiter! Die!

*#@!* Blogger!
Yet again, the system is down, so all of my posts are coming up weird or not showing at all. Arg. Grr. Arg. How's a girly-girl supposed to waste time if she can't post? Oooh, wait! Buffy's on FX! Off I go!
You folks do know that Buffy reruns on FX from 6:00P to 8:00P (ET), right? Which makes Tuesday oh-so special, as I can get three whole hours of Xander and Willow and Spikey-goodness in a row without breaking out the DVDs. Happy Sugar Kat!

Last I looked at my website, the annoying ad banner was for the new Mini, so I found far less annoying than every other banner which flashes and twitches at the top of my pink blog. I would very much like to trade in the Marshmallow for a brand-spankin' Mini. Haven't decided on a color scheme, though I liked the black-top/yellow-body look, as it reminded me of a bumble bee. I'd call it Do-Bee, in honor of Mom's years as the host of Romper Room. La la la....

What Kind Of Sim Are You?
Take the quiz.
Here's me:
You are an Innovator Sim
Creativity is your middle name.
You belong to the group of Sims
who include the artists, designers
and innovators. You love to create
and build houses in the world
Your designs are extremely
innovative. You never cease to ask
"What if?" and your entire Sim life
is consumed by this question. As a
result, the property and rooms
you create range from bold to
bizarra to absolutely brilliant. Sims
from around the city flock to your
place hoping to rub elbows with
you for inspiration from your
creative Sim soul.
Geeze. I wish I were a Sim. Sim-Sugar Kat sounds a hell of a lot more interesting....

Pop-up
So I'm trying to figure out why the Blogspot server has crashed this time, and this pop-up comes up: "Additional Penile Enlargement Information", with ads for different systems and such. Why? What has this to do with anything at the Blogger.com site? What the hell is this? [Weird thing: I had a character tease another about penile enlargements in a story I wrote last night (turned in the cyberpunk story late—my excuse is my Alzheimer-y, full-maintenance-requiring grandma).] Why the hell would this pop-up, this particular penile enlargement pop-up, pop up so randomly? Isn't this the sort of product you'd want to target to a specific group? Or is every single person on the face of World Wide Web in desperate need of a penile enlargement mechanism?

You Had To Be There
I just tried to explain the title of this blog to my mom, who, as she is wont to do (and which drives me up the bloody wall), peeped over my shoulder to see what I'm writing on her computer, she half-grimaced and shook her head. I tried again, and she sighed in motherly frustration and shook her head again. Why is it the humor of this particular circle of friends goes over the heads of most everyone with whom I speak? Coworkers, other friends, parents. Not stupid people, by a long shot. They just don't get it.
