First he gives us Kill Bill, then he does this

After paying more than $20 million for multiple territory rights, Miramax sought to edit [Hero] but facing resistance from Tarantino, who loved the film, later added his name as a presenter credit to gain greater attention for the release. Zhang recently told indieWIRE that Miramax asked Tarantino to cut film, but that the American director rejected the offer.
Apparently the Weinsteins dragged their asses so severely on the release of Hero that Zhang Yimou was worried it would be released in the States after Sony released his newer House of Flying Daggers (which I also want to see). Hoo-ray for Quentin "fanboy" Tarantino.
