They're Not Even Being Original
So, everyone knows by now of the dumbass move of the Congress renaming french fries and french toast "freedom fries" and "freedom toast" just because the French had the audacity not to agree with Bush II's regime. So the fuck what, I say. The French have made a habit of disagreeing with us since at least the close of WWII. Why is this a big deal.

Anyway, it was an intensely stupid and childish thing to do, even more disturbing behavior when you consider the people running our government are our representatives and supposedly the best and brightest. Gak. International embarrassment once again. Gee, golly, Congress. Thanks for making Americans look like asses, again. Not like Bush II's pathetic "diplomacy" hasn't done that already.

Best thing is, this move to rename foodstuffs is not original. During WWII (I believe), sauerkraut, the cabbagey stuff that some people like to eat on their hot dogs, was renamed "freedom cabbage." Which is possibly even worst than "freedom fries" and "freedom toast."

Except this: look at the words. Freedom is fried and toasted now. Abused. There's a certain poetry to this, considering the formalization of the institution of Big Brother.

Okay, I've made myself all depressed. Off to listen to the Amelie soundtrack again. And then maybe Spike crooning. (Yumdelicious Spikey goodness.)
